What We Do

Services Built on Years
of Hands-On Work

Scrap Metal Recycling

We buy and process all types of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal — aluminum, copper, steel, brass, and more. Fair market pricing, quick weighing, and immediate payment on every load.

Auto Repair

From routine maintenance to complex repairs — brakes, oil changes, engine diagnostics, suspension work, and more. We treat every vehicle like it's ours, and we explain what needs doing before we touch a tool.

Garage & Equipment

General garage services including towing assistance, equipment repair, and industrial parts sourcing. If it's metal and it's broken, we can likely fix it — or help you recycle it responsibly.

Responsible Disposal

We handle hazardous materials and hard-to-recycle items with care. Fluids drained, batteries separated, and metals sorted — everything goes through proper channels so nothing ends up where it shouldn't.

About Us

A Name You Can Trust in Astoria

Hammond's Recycling and Garage isn't a franchise or a corporate chain. We're a local operation built on the idea that skilled tradespeople deserve to be treated with respect — and that customers deserve the same.

Located on East Broadway, we've been a steady presence in this community for years. Whether you're bringing in a load of scrap copper or a truck that won't start, you'll get the same straightforward treatment: honest assessment, clear pricing, and work done right the first time.

Our two sides — recycling and repair — share the same foundation. We understand materials. We know how things are built, how they break, and how to make them useful again. That knowledge shows up in everything we do.

Why Choose Us

The Difference Is in
the Details

01

Straight Answers

No upselling, no vague estimates, no surprise charges. We tell you what's wrong, what it'll cost, and how long it'll take — before we start.

02

Fair on Scrap

Scrap prices move with the market. We pay current rates, weigh every load transparently, and cut you a check the same day — no delays, no excuses.

03

Local & Accountable

We live here too. Your opinion matters to us, and we'd rather earn your repeat business than win it once and lose it. That's just how it works in a small town.

04

Two Trades, One Roof

Recycling and repair under the same name means we see the full picture — from what you're throwing away to what you're trying to keep running.
